Overview & Reviews
This year the Grand Caravan receives a styling refresh and a new Stow 'n Go seating and storage system with fold-flat second- and third-row seats, as well as a hefty base price reduction.
- Excellent ride and handling characteristics, good low-end pull from 3.8-liter V6, roomy cabin, nifty fold-flat second- and third-row seats.

Electrical problems - 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan
By rosenjohn - February 28 - 5:06 amElectrical problems has caused this car to be in the dealers garage 10 or 12 times since purchase. Most common is right rear wheel ABS speed sensor which has been replaced 3 times. Several other check engine have resulted in computer program upgrades. We like the car but do not feel it is reliable.

Awesome Mini Van! - 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan
By elboricua - February 7 - 10:00 amYou have to love the power liftgate, the smooth drive, and the stow and go. We drove other mini vans, and there is no comparison to the interior room and comfort of the Caravan. And the upgraded engine is responsive, yet quit. Definitely worth it.

Winner - 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan
By bob - February 2 - 9:56 pmThis vehicle has a great design, large headlights .Tail lights stand out at night, body design is attractive. The van has no rattles and is quite air tight. The van has a lot of storage space and a good visibilty. Anti Lock Breaks work with little effort applied, seats are comfortable.

Never Again!!! - 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan
By sarahnichole975 - February 2 - 5:40 amWe purchased this van used in 2005 as a demo. The first year was fine, downhill quickly from there. AC compressor is out and before it went out we replaced the switch 3 times, both tail light covers fell off, power locks and windows work when they want to, pieces on inside break easily, not enough power to push this tank. Passenger sliding door hard to open. Back liftgate is testy. Mine doesnt have stow and go and moving those seats around and/or out is tough!!! 100 other little issues with it. But all the little things add up to one big piece of junk!!! You could not pay me to own another one. Upgrading to a Sienna!

I love my Grand Caravan - 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan
By Bob - January 20 - 7:53 pmI have had 3 Windstars and a Honda Minivan. The Dodge Grand Caravan is by far the best of the 4. The stow and go seating is absolutely wonderful (and thats why I bought it). I have had no problems whatsoever in 10K miles and year and half of ownership. It rides like a dream, handles great, (could use a little more pep, Quiet interior, but its OK) Gas mileage around town about 18, on the road 23 both with AC on. No problems folks and thats the truth! Im so happy with it, Chrysler sure has changed since Mercedes took them over- I feel like Im driving a Mercedes. Ill buy another in a heartbeat. Just love it!

Solid and useful - 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan
By Redvan - January 10 - 8:53 pmJust drove it for one year. Drove it in high heat. Good A/C. It can haul a lot of material with ease. It is a heavy duty vehicle. I always see the Toyota Sienna riding very low in back with a few back seat passengers. I do not think Honda people ever do work with their vans. I just do not see the point of a van if you cant haul stuff. The gas mileage is fair. 19/20 all around 23 on the freeway with A/C and going 70 plus. Good car so far

Fleet manager says no more - 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan
By Brian - December 28 - 1:30 amManaging a fleet of 500 vehicles and have about 100 Grand Caravans. Good practical vehicles but mechanical nightmares. Replaced 10 rack and pinion units in the last 2 years and many, many tie rods. Electrical issues are common as well. Primarily in the column and the multi-function switches. Beware, the new models (2008 or newer) use a new key system that will set you back over $100 to replace.

Disappointing - 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan
By pn9382 - December 18 - 7:26 amHad struts replaced at 65,000. The mechanic has replaced the strut mounts 4 times because whenever the weather turns cold we get a bad clunking sound when we hit a bump. Also problems with the electric windows and locks.
